Description The AOS PCI-104-3000 provides the computing power for today’s most challenging video acquisition and signal processing applications. It incorporates industry standard high frame rate sensor interfaces including FireWire (1394a), Camera Link (Base), and Gigabit Ethernet; with a reconfigurable processing engine. If your application requires multiple sensor input options, real-time digital signal processing capacity, and high bandwidth parallel computing all in a small package, the PCI-104-3000 is the right solution. Click an Image to Enlarge Operation The AOS PCI-104-3000 utilizes Xilinx Virtex-4 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. The PCI-104-3000 enables users to develop custom algorithms for processing input data based on the users needs. The onboard FPGA contains a PowerPC core (two PowerPC’s with the -40 or -60 option). This provides users with software control over the sensor interfaces and user developed algorithms hosted in the FPGA. The PCI-104-3000 also provides a high bandwidth auxiliary bus allowing processed data to be transferred to another board (such as the AOS PCI-104-4000) without the bandwidth constraints of using the system PCI bus. SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE SUPPORT | AOS Real-World Application
In 2009, AOS developed a processing system designed to analyze camera data for specific AOS targets on the ground. The application was autonomous location and grappling of helicopter sling loads. The system flew on an unmanned helicopter and successfully demonstrated the ability to provide the helicopter navigation information required to pick up the loads.
