Advanced Optical Systems, Inc. (AOS), a growing Huntsville, AL electro-optical company, is seeking an Image Processing Scientist.

At Advanced Optical Systems, Inc., the focus is pushing state-of-the-art optical technology beyond existing boundaries to solve commercial and military problems. The successful candidate will work within our team specializing in optical signal processing with experts in physical optics, optical engineering, lasers, lens design, opto-mechanics, opto-electronics, electronics, and software. 

Job Requirements

Candidates should have relevant experience or training in basic image processing techniques for tracking and identification of objects.  The successful candidate will implement image processing strategies and algorithms in code for application to static and dynamic image sequences.  Image processing techniques will be used in vision, IR, and laser based imaging systems.

1. Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Vision, Image Processing, or a related field.
2. Knowledge of standard and developing algorithms, and demonstrated ability to apply techniques in solving real world problems.
3. Experience specifically in object detection, classification, and tracking is desired but not required.
4. Expertise in flight systems including rotorcraft or space systems is highly desired.
5. A minimum of 2 years experience in a related image processing field will be required.
6. Solid background in MATLAB and C/C++.
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and creatively.
8. Security clearance eligibility required.
9. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
10. Candidate must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
